So my friend and I got to talking... and he says that if a game is a "Pick" that it means both spreads are automatically -1. Isn't a pick em game the same as the moneyline?

In general, you're correct. But who knows what messed-up rules a bookie could use...that's what he could be used to.

Pick em is the same thing as the moneyline.

-1 is NOT pickem,,,, Pickem is VIG (moneyline) which theoretically means -110 on both sides.

a -1 bet means there is a chance for a PUSH,,, therefore not a TRUE pickem if they won by 1,,,,(or lost by 1)

If you play with someone who deals pick -1 lines, stop. That is a sure sign he thinks you're a dope and/or would rip you off if the he has the chance.

I mean rip you off worse than quoting a pick-1 line.

If its just your friend and you betting, there are lots of sites where you can check the moneylines and pointspreads of whatever game you are looking at
